Being a photographer entails lots of different subjects: People, objects, and landscapes. when I am not focusing on event photography, portraiture or my fine art photography, I love to document work for local artists here in New Orleans. It is a great way to really learn about the arts and the artists. I have met many amazingly talented artist's this way. - Michael Smith became intrigued with photography in the late 1980's and has developed a unique style over the years in capturing images that are pleasing to the eye. Michael’s focus of work are fine art photography as well as traditional wedding, family and children's portraiture, event, website, and commercial advertising. A favorite of designers, Micahel is kown for customizing pieces for extravagant homes all over Louisiana and the united states. “I am really a naturalist at heart, but love to focus on the extravagance of design in the elements of nature.” Most recently Michael’s work was chosen to hang at the New Orleans Voodoo Festival for the past two years in a row, and it flanked the walls of the artists bar for all of the performing rockstars. His work was also included in a corporate installation in Lexington, Kentucky. His work is being used for set design in several upcoming movies that were filmed in New Orleans. His work can be easily viewed in his studio or at Villa Vici both on historic magazine street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
